I'm completely lost though and I would appreciate any help.
Most of the posts I've found about ar9485 issues say its a driver thing however I have seen several posts claiming that it might actually be a hardware issue with the way the adapters were seated in ASUS laptops. Not sure which logs would be helpful for this or how to find/post them. Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU N3700 1.60GHz I'm not very tech savvy and I would really appreciate any kind of help at this point. I am at my wits end as nothing seems to work. I have uninstalled the adapter and reinstalled multiple times. I have downloaded and installed adapter drivers from Microsoft, Qualcomm, and ASUS. Most posts seem to focus on an incompatibility issue between the adapter drivers and Windows 10.
The adapter is a Qualcomm Atheros ar9485. It only happens on my laptop (we have several computers in the house that have no issues) and it happens both with my home wifi and school wifi.Īfter searching for months, I have found tons of threads with people experiencing similar issues with this exact wifi adapter. I experience random wifi disconnects which seem to occur roughly every hour or two and the computer requires a restart before it will reconnect to the wifi. I have had nothing but issues with it and after months of trying to fix the issue on my own, I've given up. So I purchased an ASUS laptop for school about 2 years ago.
